Remember that comments are public

Your display name and comment may be visible to anyone visiting the chapter. Do not post private contact details, confidential information, or sensitive information about yourself or another person.

Make the discussion useful

Questions, textual observations, source suggestions, and respectful disagreement are welcome. When presenting a historical or scholarly claim, identify the source when practical and distinguish the text itself from your interpretation of it.

Useful reactions and comment order

Signed-in account holders may mark another contribution as useful. Administrator-pinned guidance appears first; other comments may be ordered by useful reactions and then by date. A useful count reflects community activity, not scholarly verification or endorsement by The Bible Directory.

Respect people and traditions

Discuss ideas without attacking people or communities. Harassment, threats, hate speech, sexual content, impersonation, repeated disruption, proselytizing pressure, and contempt directed at a religious or nonreligious group are not permitted.

Keep contributions lawful and original

Do not post spam, promotions, unlawful material, malware, or substantial copyrighted material that you do not have permission to share. Brief quotations should be attributed and used only as needed for the discussion.

Moderation

The Bible Directory may review, hold, close, or remove contributions that violate these guidelines or interfere with constructive participation. Moderation decisions may consider context, repetition, and patterns of behavior as well as an individual comment.

Directory staff participation

Comments carrying the “The Bible Directory” badge come from an administrator account. Staff may add relevant study paths, clarify how a source is being used, or pin an especially useful contribution near the beginning of a chapter discussion. A pinned comment is an editorial navigation aid, not a declaration that one interpretation is required.

Report a concern

When signed in, use the Report control beneath the comment and choose the closest concern category. Reports are reviewed by a moderator and do not automatically remove a comment. If the control is unavailable or the concern involves something beyond a comment, email hello@thebibledirectory.com with the page link and a brief explanation. Do not repeat harmful or sensitive material in more detail than necessary.
